Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian follows Arnold Spirit Jr., better known simply as "Junior." Junior lives on a Spokane Indian Reservation, but decides to go to an all-white high school in a different town. Junior must deal with a new school setting along with issues at home and on the reservation.
This book is based heavily on the experiences of the author and his life. Junior is also an aspiring cartoonist, and there are over 60 of his drawings incorporated throughout the book, drawn by Ellen Forney!
